Privacy policy

Plain English, as it should be. This page explains what this website collects about you, why, and what your rights are under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Last updated: July 2026

Who is responsible for your data

Jake Harrison, trading as Jake Harrison Therapies, 139 Deepwell Avenue, Halfway, Sheffield, S20 4SS. For anything data related, email jakeharrisontherapies@gmail.com or call 07983 456367.

What this website collects, and why

The contact form

If you send a message through the contact page, I receive your name, email address, your message, and your phone number if you choose to give it. I use these only to reply to you and deal with whatever you asked about. The lawful basis is legitimate interest: you contacted me, so I answer.

The quiz email option

The "Which service do I need?" quiz works entirely in your browser. Your individual answers are not sent anywhere and are discarded when you leave the page. If, and only if, you choose to enter your email at the end, I receive your email address and the name of the service the quiz recommended, so I can send you your result. That is all it is used for, and the lawful basis is your consent. Skipping the email step costs you nothing; you still get your result on screen.

The guide email box

Each free guide ends with an optional email box. If you use it, I receive your email address and which guide you were reading, so I can send you new guides when they are published. The lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing or emailing me.

Booking

Appointments are booked through Jane App, a separate service with its own privacy policy. This website just links you there; it does not see what you enter during booking.

Who processes the data

Form submissions (the contact form and the optional quiz email) are handled by Netlify, the company that hosts this website's forms. Netlify stores submissions securely on my behalf until I collect and respond to them. Netlify may process data outside the UK; it does so under recognised safeguards for international transfers.

Cookies and third parties

This website itself does not set cookies. Two things on it may involve third parties:

The reviews page can include a widget that displays live Google reviews. The widget provider (such as Elfsight or SociableKIT) may set its own cookies and load content from its own servers when you visit that page. Their privacy policies apply to that widget.

The contact page also embeds a Google Map showing where the clinic is. When that page loads, your browser requests the map from Google, which may set cookies and log the request under Google's own privacy policy.

This site may use privacy respecting analytics to count visits (such as Plausible, which uses no cookies and collects no personal information). If analytics that use cookies are ever added instead, this policy and a consent banner will be updated first.

The free guide pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser requests those font files from Google when you open a guide. Google may log that request, including your IP address. No cookies are set by this.

How long I keep things

Messages and quiz emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, then deleted. Guide subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. If you become a client, your information is then handled under the clinic's client record processes, which are explained to you when you book.

Your rights

You can ask me to show you the personal data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is used, object to its use, or hand it over in a portable format. Where something rests on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. Just email jakeharrisontherapies@gmail.com and I will sort it.

If you are not happy with how I have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
