Who this is for

Movement Therapy is the right starting point if any of this sounds familiar:

  • Pain or an injury that has been hanging around for weeks, months or longer
  • Hip pain, back pain, knee pain or a joint that does not feel right
  • A problem that settles, then returns as soon as you get back to training
  • You want to get back to running, cycling, the gym or sport with a plan, not crossed fingers
  • Symptoms are starting to affect daily life, work or performance
  • You are honestly not sure what is going on, and you want someone to look at it properly

If yours is more general tightness or recovery between training blocks, Sports Massage is probably the better fit. And if you are somewhere in between, the quiz or a free consultation will sort it out.

What happens in your first appointment

Ninety minutes, unrushed, built entirely around you. Here is how it runs:

  1. We talk, properly

Your story, your symptoms, your training, your goals. What has been tried already and what happened when you tried it.

  2. A full movement assessment

We look at how you move, what is sensitive, and what might be contributing to it. Not to find fault, but to understand the whole picture.

  3. Hands on treatment where useful

Massage and hands on techniques where they genuinely help, not as a ritual. Treatment serves the plan, not the other way round.

  4. An individualised plan

Built around you, your symptoms, your goals and what we find on the day. Manageable, specific and explained in plain English.

  5. Aftercare and clear next steps

You leave knowing what to do, what to expect and when we should review. Clear next steps, not just a treatment session.

90 minutes that replace the guesswork

An initial Movement Therapy appointment is one proper working session: a full assessment, hands on treatment where it is useful, an individualised plan and clear aftercare. You leave understanding the why, not just feeling worked on.

It replaces the cycle of short appointments that treat the same spot over and over without ever asking why.

Initial Movement Therapy: £85 · 90 minutes

Follow-up Movement Therapy: £65 · 75 minutes

Follow-ups review how you have responded, progress the plan and continue hands on treatment where it earns its place. How many you need depends on you, and I will always be straight with you about that.

Weekend appointments are available on request at an enhanced rate, priced on the booking site.

What clients say about the assessment

“The time and effort Jake has put in to help me, instructing and recommending exercise plans has lead to amazing results. I have gone from barely being able to manage 10k steps on a weekend walk to a now being able to walk 25k plus each day on a recent trip for 3 weeks.”

Dan

“After the first session my leg immediately felt better and continued to do so with the more sessions I had over the coming weeks and months. What's especially good is he explains everything, what he's doing and why.”

Andy L

“All round I was very happy with the assessment, fantastic communication and the detail he went into”

Read up on your problem first, if you like

Free honest guides on the problems I assess most: back pain that keeps coming back, sciatica, recurrent hamstring strains, front of knee pain, pain below the kneecap, outside of the knee pain on runs, shin splints, foot, ankle and achilles pain, shoulder pain, tennis elbow and wrist pain. Each one is honest about when getting assessed properly beats reading.

Stop guessing. Get it assessed properly.
